Origin House was a fast-growing cannabis product and brands company, operating in key U.S. and Canadian markets. Aiming to become a global leader, the company established a solid presence in California’s regulated market, delivering over 13 branded cannabis products to most dispensaries. With five licensed facilities, Origin House provided distribution, manufacturing, cultivation, and marketing services, while actively developing infrastructure to support international brand expansion.

Origin House encountered challenges managing its diverse brand portfolio, which expanded through mergers and acquisitions. The lack of a brand and go-to-market strategy led to inefficiencies and suboptimal performance across brands. These challenges hindered Origin House’s ability to differentiate its brands, establish strong market positioning, and maximize distribution channels, ultimately hindering revenue growth and full market potential realization.
What Problems Were They Facing?
Origin House faced several critical issues including limited retail presence in 20% of dispensaries and low consumer interest and brand awareness. These challenges resulted in loss of market share. Failure to address these issues would further impact revenue, threatening their position in the competitive cannabis market and jeopardizing the company’s future growth.

What Did We Do To Solve It?
To address the challenges, we conducted a competitive audit, identifying opportunities to drive revenue, awareness, and loyalty. Focusing on top accounts, we implemented a content marketing strategy, merchandising improvements, incentive programs, and product demonstrations. We refreshed the brand identity, launched a new product line with refreshed packaging and flavor extensions, securing an industry award. Complemented by a multi-channel marketing approach, these efforts contributed to a 246% revenue growth, supporting Origin House’s $850 million acquisition by Cresco Labs and solidifying its market presence.
